This is a volcanic mountain chain with farms from elevations of 1300 to 1600m. This is a naturally processed coffee; left to dry on cement beds then cleaned, graded and sorted. The volcanic soils of the region are great for growing coffee that is well balanced with acidity and body. This coffee has flavour notes of red cherry and hazelnuts with a long sweet finish.
The Cordillera de Apaneca is a volcanic mountain chain to the northwest of San Salvador. High altitude volcanic soils are perfect for this variety of coffee bean. Centroamericano, the casual term for the F1 hybrid, has been bred for its resistance to rust. While being a dwarf bush the beans of the F1 Hybrid are large and high yielding.
Great for plunger and filter brews.
